Foothill Sunburst (Pseudobahia heermannii) Leaves

The primary way to tell Foothill Sunburst apart from Goldfields is by looking at the leaves. Goldfields leaves are linear and unbranching, while Foothill Sunburst leaves (above), like college students on the seven-year plan, bud and wander all over the place, and (not necessarily like college students on any plan) bear a passing resemblance to miniature lizards or Gumbii.
