The Ahwahnee Hills Regional Park, on county-owned land that was once a tubercuolosis sanatorium, comprises 400 acres of foothill oak country off Highway 49 near Ahwahnee (see the map below). The 2.7-mile hiking loop is generally at its most scenic and temperate in April or early May, when this photo was taken.
