Indian Rhubarb
Indian Rhubarb (at right; read more about it here) grows all along this trail, sprouting right out of the river bed, and does much to help make the hike satisfyingly picturesque. Before the leaves sprout, the plants have softball-sized heads of flowers that wobble with the current and are maddeningly tricky to photograph with a long exposure.
