View from the Subdome
If you didn't bring your permit, you'll be stopped at the shelf in the foreground and won't be allowed to hike to this spot, which is in the midst of the yellow squiggles on the Route-Part-2 photo. And that would be a shame, because once you start up the subdome and climb above the trees, you'll start getting spectacular distant views to the eastern high Sierras, as well as near views to Mt. Watkins (on the left here) and Clouds Rest (on the right). A 700-pixel-wide photo comes nowhere near capturing the scale and grandeur of this scene.
