Lyell Canyon Hikers: Don't Take This Fork

Though the Gaylor Lakes Basin and the Mono Pass trail are both undeniably scenic, they're not part of the Lyell Canyon trail. If your intention is to see Lyell Canyon, you must resist the temptation presented by this sign, no matter how artful its use of negative space, and take the right fork instead. The official trailheads for Gaylor Lakes and Mono Pass provide much shorter routes to those destinations (and to Parker Pass, whose trail cuts off from the Mono Pass trail not far from its summit).
