Lembert Dome from Tuolumne Meadows

This view is from Tuolumne Meadows, roughly a mile west of the dome. When you hike the dome, you'll approach it from the back (the side you can't see from here), then climb along the southern slope (the one sloping off to the right in this photo). Dog Dome is visible just to the left of Lembert Dome. The redheaded peak to the right of the dome is, I believe, Mt. Gibbs, which reaches 12,764 feet (3,890 meters) without shoes. Lembert Dome itself is 9,450 feet (2,880 meters) tall. That's the Tuolumne River loitering in the foreground.
