Twilight at the Merced National Wildlife Refuge

Staying for twilight means you'll run perilously close to violating the refuge's close-at-thirty-minutes-past-sunset rule, but the post-sunset glow reflecting off the water is hard to resist. The refuge is much quieter, birdwise, by this time of the evening, an effect exaggerated by this photo's 10-second exposure, which erased anything that wasn't standing still.
