Distance:  1.2 miles (2 km) round trip
Elevation at trailhead:  4,000 feet (1,200 meters)
Elevation Gain:  200 feet (60 meters), more or less

Map Notes: The green hikers mark the official trailhead at the Bridalveil Fall parking lot. The red line shows the quickest route to the falls, but the alternate yellow approach, which lets you see more of the valley and cross Bridalveil Creek, is at least as good.

Though Bridalveil Fall itself is in shadow and hard to spot in this view, it's easy to spot Bridalveil Creek in the southeast corner of the map as it approaches the fall from above. You can also see Bridalveil Creek's ultimate destination, the Merced River, winding from east to west across the scene. If you scroll to the left, you can see Bridalveil Meadow, with a red balloon marking the Gates of the Valley, and if you scroll to the northeast, you'll see El Capitan.
