Peaks north of the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne

Peaks across the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne

For the most part, your views to the northeast are blocked by trees; you'll have to explore a bit to find a place where you can see these peaks. You'll also need a telephoto lens to get this close a view of them; this photo was snapped at 300 mm.

I wouldn't bet any map-reading merit badges on it, but it's likely that the mountains on the horizon are Regulation Peak (10,554 feet/3,216 meters), Pettit Peak (10,788 feet/3,278 meters), and West Peak (10.529 feet/3,209 meters).
