Tresidder Peak and Lower Cathedral Lake
Tresidder peaks at 10,600 feet (3,230 meters), 1,300 feet (400 meters) above
Lower Cathedral Lake. It's named for Donald Tresidder, favorite son
of Tipton, Indiana. He married the daughter of the founders of Camp Curry
and was instrumental in the construction of many of Yosemite's most important buildings, including the
Ahwahnee Hotel, portions of Curry Village,
and the High Sierra Camps. He also spent five years as the president of Stanford University before dying of a heart attack
in 1948 at only 53 years of age.
