Note: if you're on a cell phone, you'll probably need to zoom the map out a bit to see the trail.
Distance: 0.75 miles (1.2 km) round trip
Trailhead Elevation: 4,140 feet (1,260 meters)
Elevation Gain: very little
The red line marks the trail (proceeding left to right) from the parking area to the swinging bridge. The yellow line shows the trail that returns along the opposite bank of the Merced to the Wawona neighborhood. (The road that meets the trail isn't shown on Google Maps, at least as of this writing, but there really is one there.) If you take this trail and don't want to retrace your steps back to the trailhead parking, you'll either have to ford the river at some point or proceed two miles (3 km) west to the Pioneer History Center to find a bridge across the river.
Though a hike to the bridge and back (the red line) covers less than a mile, if you hike both the red and yellow routes, you'll end up with a 2-mile round trip. If you add in the trail eastwards to the fen along the north bank of the river (not given its own line here), you'll up your day to 4 miles round trip.
