Map Notes: The red line marks the Chilnualna Falls trail; the green line shows the path of Chilnualna Creek in its last few miles of independence before it mates with the South Fork of the Merced River near the Wawona Pioneer History Center. The Chilnualna makes the most of its final moments of freedom, celebrating with a series of cascades, a 240-foot plunge, and then several more cascades before finally settling into to a more sedate and mature lifestyle in the Wawona Meadow Valley. Let's hope it's happy.
