There's little topographical variety or complicated navigation involved in the Mono Lake trail, so this map focuses on the route to it instead. Though you're welcome to zoom in on the trail if you'd like - it's the little red loop near the right edge of the map. Google Maps indicates that the trail takes you into the lake itself, but this is just Google's forward thinking at work - the trail won't be inundated again for several years. Switch to the satellite view to see the current state of the lakeshore.

From Yosemite's eastern gate at Tioga Pass (the yellow line's leftmost terminus on the map), here's how you get to the Mono Lake trailhead:

  • Take Tioga Road 12 miles (19 km) east to the junction with 395.
  • Take 395 south for 5 miles (8 km) to the 120 east junction
  • Take 120 east for just under 5 miles (8 km) to the South Tufa trailhead
  • Take the South Tufa road 1 mile (1.6 km) to the trailhead parking lot
