Not sure why Happy Isles is always the first thing I think of when I think of my recent, and only, and hopefully not my last trip to Yosemite. It is so beautiful, and we were there in the Spring of 2019 following very heavy Winter snows so the river was RAGING! So I was surprised when I read the comment regarding 'skinny dipping'; you would not survive it, I promise- not with the river that high and swift. In any case, it is definitely not a waste of time especially if you are not fit enough to do more strenuous hikes. In fact, I would not call it a 'hike', but more like just wandering around the area. But it is not to be missed. It is not the islands that are happy, it is you that will feel happy when you are there, and long after you leave. Just go!

Peaceful Place, Happy Isles

We come to Yosemite every year and camp for a week. In the spring Happy Isles is just magnificent. A great place for a family picnic. Hike is super easy and the end is just a wonderful place to sit and reflect and take in the beauty. Bring your camera!
