Yosemite Falls from the lower section of the Four-Mile Trail

Yosemite Falls

On the lower half of the Four-Mile Trail, you'll be happily positioned to look straight up the crevice where the waters of Yosemite Falls cruise through the middle cascades en route to their final plunge over the lower falls. There are only a couple places in the park where the falls bare themselves so completely to you. You'd expect a lot of work or a hefty cover charge to earn something like this, but if you're hiking the trail from bottom to top, this will be one of the first things you see once you've climbed above the timber that covers much of the valley floor.
