What do all the squiggly lines mean?  The yellow line marks the trail that goes from the Lower Yosemite Falls trailhead to the official Upper Yosemite Falls/Columbia Rock trail. Unless you're staying at Camp 4 or Yosemite Lodge, you'll probably start your hike next to the giant green hikers at the right end of the yellow line. Try not to get stepped on.

The green line marks the route from the Upper Yosemite Falls trailhead to Columbia Rock. There were no margaritas consumed during the drawing of this map - there just really are that many switchbacks. You'll climb about a thousand feet over the course of the green trail.

The orange line shows the rest of the trail from Columbia Rock to the top of Yosemite Falls. The blue line is the trail to the base of Yosemite Falls, which you'll likely share with the occupants of somewhere between three and twenty-five tour buses.
