Half Dome
This view is from Sentinel Bridge, which is in the eastern half of the valley near the chapel and marks the eastern boundary of Sentinel Meadow (see the map below). It gets its official name from its proximity to Sentinel Rock, which stands over the valley just to the southwest, but a photographer I chatted with at the Tunnel View one evening calls it "Fanny Bridge" in honor of the long row of photographers, all facing the Merced River/Half Dome vista, that you'll see there if you drive over the bridge in the vicinity of sunset.
