There are three trailhead entrances to Tuolumne Meadows from the Tioga Pass Road: one from the western edge, near Pothole Dome; one near the eastern edge, at the Dog Lake/Lembert Dome trailhead; and this one, smack in the middle. It's your shortest path (half a mile) to Parsons Lodge and the soda springs, should you be in a hurry to reach those attractions, and it takes you across the picturesque Tuolumne River bridge.
