Meadow near Mono Pass trailhead, sunset
Much of the trail to Mono Pass takes you either through or beside meadows, with Parker Pass Creek joining in soon after the trailhead to keep you company,
though it's an aloof, in-and-out kind of company, like a cat that's doing
its cat thing and definitely not following you, who don't own said cat in
any way.
This photo faces northwest, back towards the trailhead, which is
nearby here - perhaps half a mile away.
The mountains in the background are on the other side of Tioga Road. The
little clumps of green rabbit ears scattered throughout the meadow are corn
lilies.
Maybe it's just us, but we like this photo better when we're listening to Cannonball Adderley and
Miles Davis playing "Somethin' Else". We're indebted to
Radio Paradise
for the serendipitous discovery that jazz and meadows go together like
chocolate and more chocolate.
