This view faces northeast, to Mt. Hoffmann's southern face. May Lake lies beyond the ridge at the right side of this photo (see the trail map for confirmation). This mid-May view should remind you that if you're climbing Mt. Hoffmann (10,845 feet/3,305 meters) before, say, the middle of June, be sure to wear waterproof boots and be otherwise prepared for snowy high-elevation conditions.
