Yosemite Hikes masthead (Washburn Point)
Tresidder Peak and Lower Cathedral Lake
Tresidder Peak
This photo looks out from the northeastern corner of the lake, near the edge of the unusual granite bench that occupies the eastern shore. One would think that a vast sheet of solid granite would make an effective arboreal chastity belt, but trees in Yosemite spring from the most unlikely places - the fallen Jeffrey pine on Sentinel Dome being probably the most famous example.
