Wawona Meadow near the loop trail's clockwise trailhead

Wawona Meadow

If you're hiking the Wawona loop clockwise, you'll reach this spot just a few steps past the trailhead, so don't forget to keep an eye cast toward the meadow as you start out even if you're busy adjusting your spare leg or figuring out who to smear leftover globs of sunscreen on. In early June this scene is often covered with blooming lupine, and in fact there are several dozen flowers in the foreground here, though it's hard to spot them in the photo at this reduced size.
